STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER.
By Telegraph—Press Association.
Christchurch, June 17.
The grouping system of conducting art unions is to be continued, according to a statement made, this morning by the Hon. Adam Hamilton, Minister ot Internal Affairs. He said it was the intention to continue art unions under the restricted conditions already announced. The grouping, would be continued, the share given, to any particular organisation, in an art union depending on the merits of its claim. Of course, all applicants were anxious to receive large sums of money, but then who was not! “Any organisation nowadays receiving, say, £lOOO could account itself very fortunate,” said the Minister.
