Walter Phillip Hailed,, aged 30, a farmer was sentenced to six months hard labour to-day for obtaining a first-class-railway ticket, Auckland to Invercargill, aiid £24 17s in cash by means-of a valueless cheque. Counsel said Hailed .was a sick man., Detective-Sergeant Kelly: ‘‘So is the clerk who sold him the ticket, and gave him the cash.” .
