THE CUT IN WAGES.

(To the Editor.)

Sj rj —May I be favoured with a short space in your valuable paper in regard to the cut in wages. I think it is disgraceful the way things are going on. The poor labourer has to sutler, not the well-to-do farmer who has money out at interest and his property freehold. ' Yet they are the ones that are doin" all the squealing and crying out. I know a man that had his wages reduced, and a good worker, and yet has to pay his son’s wages as well. J-™ you call that helping the people with large families? If Mr. Coates and Mr. Forbes took the load themselves instead of flying about on our is in the pound it would be much better. Inste * d helping they are taking the food out or the families’ mouths.—l am, etc., housewife.
