POSSIBILITY OF SURPLUS
FINANCE OF COMMONWEALTH.
FIGURES FOR ELEVEN MONTHS.
Rec. 8.10 p.m. Sydney, Juno 10. The total of revenue received by the Commonwealth for the eleven months of the financial year is £61,846,000, of which £7,620,000 represents receipts from the sales tax. It is expected the deficit at the end of the year will be very slight; there is even a strong possibility of a small surplus, especially if the New South Wales interest payments are met in the near future.
