HOMING PIGEONS

WINTER SHOW EVENT.

The annual homing pigeon race flown from Palmerston North to New llymouth, a distance of 12a miles, m connection with the Taranaki Agricultural Society’s winter show, was held duiin o the week. Eight lofts competed, the entrants comprising members of the New Plymouth and Egmont Homing Clubs. The race was flown under adverse conXns, heavy rain with a strong gusty head wind militating against good tunes being recorded. The conditions of the race were that tlm birds competing would bo liberated at intervals of a minutes, and the birds ‘ clocked in to be exhibited at the winter show. - Mr. E. P. Jackson, Palmerston Noith, acted’ as liberator and dispatched the birds to instructions. Um eight buds ‘■clocked” were on exhibition at the winter show. The race resulted as follows;. A.
