WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETING.
(From Our Own .Correspondent.)
The monthly; meeting, of the Lepperton branch of the ‘Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs; 11. E Blyde presiding.
Final arrangements were made ter the second birthday tea. Arrangements wore also made ter the Dominion president's visit. - The afternoon was devoted to sewing .for a. family of seven young children whose home was burnt last week, the members bringing material and made-up clothing. , Three sewing machines were in operation and goo« work was done. The afternoon was also the occasion of. a “pound” collection, each member bringing a pound of something for the.“pound scheme” for the relief- of, distres in New Plymouth.
The hostesses were Mrs. E. Hellier, sour., Mrs. E. Hellier junr. and Miss Doris Hellier.
