“WELCOME LODGE” OPENING
MEALS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED. “Welcome Lodge,” New Plymouth, is to be opened on Saturday afternoon at 2.30, when a free meal will be given to all single unemployed, men and women. The Salvation Army points out that it would be Impossible to provide a free meal for all unemployed. Commencing on Monday, three meals a day will be available to all unemployed at 3d a meal. Further contributions to the fund have been received as follow:—
