Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Seed entertained about 40 guests at their residence on Wednesday to celebrate tlra coming-of-ao'e of their son, 'Mr. Alec Seed. The evening was spent in games, cards, and dancing, music being supplied by Misses Seed, Guy and Startup. The guests drank the healths of Mr. Alec Seed, his parents and Mr. G. Hurrell. Those present included Mesdames Bloor (Te Roti),Startup, Guy and Seed, Misses G. Mickelton, F. Seed, B. Seed, V. Grierson, M. Guy, W. Gatenby, N. Rowlands, I. Reed, M. Startup, W. Startup, R. Seed, H. Lloyd and D. Lloyd. A euchre and dance party was held in Startup’s Hall last week. The winners of the euchre prizes were Miss E. Heid, 1, Mrs. J. Reid 2, Mr. J. Reid 1 and Mr. Simpson 2. Music for the dance was supplied by Misses Startup (-). The fortnightly euchre and dance party was held in the Matapu hall on Tuesday night, but owing to counterattractions the attendance was not as good as usual. The prizes were won by Mrs. Simpson 1, Miss W. Gatenby 2 (after a replay with Miss L. Hoskin), Mr. H. Hoskin 1, Mr. 1. Guy 2. Arter supper the hall was cleared for dancmg, music being supplied by Miss M. Guy, while Miss B. Seed played m extra. Mr. W. Gatenby was master ot cereGuy is staying with Mrs. A. Guy, New Plymouth.
