TRADE EXHIBITS

NEWTON KING, LTD; MACHINERY DEPARTMENT. Always in the forefront with the latest equipment for improving the work on the farm, Newton King, Ltd., has introduced a new and’ improved' milking machine, to be known as the “King” Milker. A close connection with the milking industry over a long period, of years and an intensive study of the many problems connected .with the successful operation of a modern dairy farm, convinced the firm that a big improvement could be effected in the modern milking machine. The result of our investigations can be seen in the “King Milker,” exhibited for the first time at the

Simplicity of design is an outstanding feature. All unnecessary fittings and intricate mechanism are done away with, the necessary efficiency being obtained without the introduction of a multiplicity of moving parts. The quality of the material used will also appeal to the farmer, as will also the absence of rubber sleeves, rubber plugs, etc. In fact, the use of rubber - has been eliminated wherever possible, brass plugs and unions, heavily nickel-plated, taking their place. The compact design of the releaser and vacuum tank is a step in the right direction, both being ready accessible for cleaning purposes. They are closely coupled together and supported on specially constructed brackets. The special design of the vacuum tank lid enables a most efficient double lead for the vacuum pipe to be used. This is an outstanding feature of the plant, as is the carefully-thought-out principle of the overhead mechanical pulsators.

A completely new design of releaser pulsator is used, which definitely eliminates frothing, churning and spitting of the releaser -without having to retard the' number of times the valves are opened and shut. This also prevents the flooding, so prevalent with many types of releasors.

The slide valves of the pulsators are of gun metal. The firm have spared no expense to supply the best available. The nickel-plated brass rod,, to actuate the pulsator slide waives, is fitted with o-uides to prevent any variation in the°stroke through the rod lifting. The rubber ware is the product of one of the leading English mills; in fact, all the»materials used is either manufactured in New Zealand or imported from the "Home Country. The vacuum pump is of the wellknown and now generally accepted rotary type and is driven by a 1 h.p. electric motoi.

The “King” Milker is assured of a very successful future, as in addition to the outstanding features of the machine itself it is backed by the most efficient service that can be offered.

Farmers will also be interested in the I.X.L. Water Heater and Steam Steriliser, the fastest, cheapest and most economical heater on the market. The Alfa-Laval Separator is included in the firm’s' display and is now so o-enerally admitted to be in a class by itself that no description is necessary. Proof of this lies in -the fact that 5000 of the new model-Alfa, with rustproof bowl, ■ rust-proof discs and ballbearings, have been sold in New, Zealand since its introduction just 12 months ago,

COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION Show visitors have been tremendously interested in two beautiful looking- cars in the main motor hall, but upon a close inspection they have discovered that they are not new cars at all but are two very fine examples of duco spray work done by Mr. S. Lawson, expert duco sprayer, whose business premises are situated in Gill. Street, New Plymouth. Both cars, which were recently done by Mr. Lawson, were badly in need of repainting and only the owners can really appreciate the very fine work carried out by Mr. Lawson, whose reputation for high-class duco work is widely known throughout Taranaki. One car looks very rich with its body in Sahara gray and maroon top, opaque black guards and 'wheels picked out in maroon and Sahara .gray. -The other car, a Dodge sedan, is finished in carefully chosen colours of green, and it alone is well worth inspection. Prospective clients can rest assured that the same high quality work will be carried out no matter how small the job. Special discounts will be given on orders placed during Show Week.
