ADMISSION OF HOLDING GUN.
EFFORT TO PROVE INSANITY.

Rec. 5.5 p.m. Honolulu, April 16. During the course of the hearing of the murder trial in connection with the recent lynching Lieut. Massie, one of the accused, admitted holding the gun when Kahahawai (the victim) was killed, but he said he did not remember what happened. Mr. Darrow informed the - Court that his intention was to show that Massie was temporarily insane at the time when attempting to extort a rape confession by threats.
