RUSSIAN AGENT
ARREST IN ENGLAND. London, April 5. Described as a member of one of the highest Communist orders of Russia, Ewald Anton Hugo Schodel, aged 25, a German utudent, was remanded at Bow Street for failure to register as an alien. It was [stated in evidence that he arrived in England on September 9. His documents showed that he was a Soviet agent travelling to England to secure information about Communism. One of his books described the cells of English Reds, and also gave a list of people of a milder class. It covered the main towns of England and Scotland. A code, which has not yet been deciphered, was also found. The magistrate said the memoranda would apparently help in carrying out Communist agitation.
