Mr. Will Perry, Auckland, a former resident of New Plymouth for many years, during which lie was engaged in business, and his son, Mr. Norman Perry, Cambridge, are visiting New Plymouth.
Mr. Sidney Pascal!, of the Rotary International, and the head of the famous British confectionery firm, is due to arrive at Auckland by the Aorangi on May 2. He is accompanied by Mrs. Pascal!. Captain J. W. Hewett, who flew from Auckland to Wellington yesterday, called at the New Plymouth aerodrome at Bell Block en route.
Tho King has approved the award of the Royal Geographical Society medal to Mr. Watkins for his work in connection with the British Arctic air route expedition, states a London cable. The Hon. J. B. Gow, M.L.C., arrived at New Plymouth last night by the express from Wellington and. will be present at the opening of the new St. Andrew’s church to-day. The death of Mr. Alfred Henry Brown, aged 72, is reported by cable from London. He was a leading Quaker of the East Eud. He visited Australia before tho war, opposed military training and investigated the conditions of the aborigines in tho Northern Territory in 1913, when he said his most pleasant guide was a black fellow convicted of murder.
