THE PAINTING COMPETITION. PRIZE-WINNING RESULTS. Dear Tinka, You "will probably have noticed that your letters ar# shorter this week, and that some of you are sharing them, which is very unusual; is it not? All the entries seemed to come at once, so there has been brisk work in the Hut family, sorting out ages, finding out addresses and pasting them, when they were found, on to the back of the entries so that they would not be lost. So it has been a case of scissors and paste, scissors and paste! (I think Billikins has made up a tune about it!) You always ask for hints, so here they come! After reading eo much about the scissors and paste you will understand what lots more work it means, so why not do it yourselves next time ? You have no idea how improved your entry is when it is mounted, if only on a piece of writing-paper; it makes a little frame for it, and most of them are quite worthy of frames even more elaborate tnan that! Then write your name, address and age on the back, and there—4t is done—so quickly and neatly, and you will find it means no extra . -.work-or-time. < *< The paintings were well done; even those by "the littlest ones,” in. crayons, were little works of art, and we found it so difficult to decide on the prize-winners. It has all been great fun, hasn’t it? I know you have enjoyed it just as much as we have. [Lots of smiles and love from all the Hut folk.
