SERMON INTERRUPTED.

INCIDENT AT STRATFORD.

A very embarrassing.incident occurred at a Stratford church when the preacher, at the culminating point of his sermon, was loudly interrupted by an elderly and respected parishioner in the fourth pew, who had a violent fit of coughing. The man had to leave the church while all eyes followed him, and the whole trend of the sermon was lost. At the close of church the vicar went into the vestry-, where, to his amazement, he discovered the same man with a bottle to his lips. It was a very embarrassing situation. However, the verger came in at that moment and explained that he had met the man at the door and had invited him into the vestry to take a dose of Honey Acid, which he knew would stop his coughing instantly. “This Honey Acid,” said the verger, the best cough remedy I know of.
