BAITING OF THE POLICE.

Rec. 10.30 p.m. Calcutta, _ April 14. A recrudescence of mob violence at Allahabad resulted in injuries to Mr. J. H. Taylor, works superintendent of the East Indian railway. With his two assistants he was inspecting a bridge which was bombed recently when he was stoned by a hostile mob and forced to seek police protection. of hooligans continue baiting the police, and yesterday seven pillarboxes were destroyed by fire.
