“WIZARD” SMITH CONFIDENT

FITTING OF REVOLVING SCREEN.

RETURN IN SUMMER IF FAILURE,

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Auckland, April 13.

Wizard Smith stated to-day he was confident that the new circular windscreen would prove a complete success. If it did not the car would not.be returned to the Ninety Mile Beach till next summer. Most of the present windshield wipers did not function continuously when the engine was doing heavy work. The new device would be. run as a separate unit apart from the engine. He was satisfied that there was little chance of the beach being sufficiently dry and level, except close to the water’s edge, to permit of high speed.
