APPEAL TO PRIVY COUNCIL.
ARGUMENT BEGINS TO-DAY. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, April 12. The New South Wales Government’s appeal to the Privy Council regarding the abolition of the Legislative Council has commenced before Lord Sankey, Lord Blanesburg, Lord Hanworth, Lord Atkin and Earl Russell of Killowen. Counsel in the case are: For the appellants, Sir Richard Cripps, formerly Solicitor-General, Mr. D. Pitt, K.C., and Mr. A. Nesbit; for the respondents, Messrs. Wilfred Greene, K.C., D. Maughan, K.C., and Wilfred Barton; for the Commonwealth, Messrs. Latham and W. Fullagan; for tVe Crown (apart from the Attorney-General, Sir Thomas Inskip, who is. intervening), Messrs. Wilfred Lewis and J. P. Ashworth, who is solicitor to the Treasury. Sir Richard. Cripps outlined his case and will commence his argument on Thursday.
