WAIKATO LIVE STOCK VALUES. FURTHER DECLINE FOR BEET. Hamilton, April 12. A heavier yarding of ox beef than last week was offered at the Frankton stock sale to-day. There was a slackening in demand and value® showed a further decline on late rates. Quotations for cow beef, for which competition was only fair, also showed a decline. Fat ewes and wethers came forward in average numbers and sold at slightly advanced rates, while fat lambs realised prices fully on a par with late quotations. There was a large yarding of fat and store pigs. Competition for good baeoners was keen, but the prices realised for porkers showed no variation. Nolan report that they held their four-weekly sale of hides, sheepskins and tallow on Tuesday and submitted an average catalogue to a representative bench of buyers. Competition was well sustained but might be said to have lacked the life usually evident. Hides sold at lower prices in sympathy with outside markets; heavy and mediujn were lower by a halfpenny. All other sorts sold at from par to |d down, generally a drop of one-eighth. Sheepskins sold at about last month’s rates. A fair amount of seed was in evidence and affected prices in some cases. Tallow and sundries sold at about late rates.

PRICES AT STRATFORD.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford, reports having held its monthly sale on Tuesday. A catalogue comprising wool oddments, 1347 sheepskins, 234 hides and calfskins, and 18 tins of tallow was offered to buyers from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Taranaki. There was keen demand for hides and sheepskins at ruling rates, the following being the range of prices: — 'Wool: Crossbred fleece, clean, IJd to 2-ld per lb; heavy in biddi, id to Id per lb; lambs, clean, 2Jd per lb; heavy biddi, no offer; dead mixed, Id lb; crutchings, no offer; locks and pieces, 4d lb.

CROSSBRED WOOL LOWER, LONDON SALES REOPENED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, April 12. The wool sales have reopened. Merinos were unchanged and crossbreds 5 to 10 per cent, lower. At the sales 9717 bales were offered, including 3195 from New Zealand. Approximately 3600 were sold. There was a poor selection of Merinos and a moderate Jot of crossbreds. There was a good attendance and fair competition. Compared with the March closing rates Merinos were unchanged. Continental sorts were 5 per cent. lower. Crossbreds were 5 to 10 per cent., and halfbreds and slipes 15 per cent, lower. New Zealand scoured and combings, Walter Park, top 17d, average l's|d; greasy crossbreds, Akitio 9d and 6Jd.
