REFORM OF PIG INDUSTRY
AN INVESTIGATION SOUGHT. PRELIMINARY CONFERENGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., April 13. Proposals for the reform of the pig industry in order to place it on a sound basis for development on scientific lines were advanced at a representative meeting preliminary to representations being made to the Department of Agriculture to-morrow. The main issues discussed were the question of appointing an investigating committee and making provision for compulsory standardised grading.
