EIGHT DAYS’ CAMPAIGN.
The Auckland Council of Christian Congregations, after six months’ preparation, is about to launch its united campaign. of Christian witness. The territory over which the campaign will operate stretches from Henderson to Otahuhu, and has been divided into 15 areas, each of which will be under its own group leader. The leaders will be responsible for organising local plans to culminate in an eight days campaign and demonstration in the city near the close of August. , , . The way will be prepared by instituting a united campaign from August. 21 to Auglust 28 by intensive work within the various churches. The work will consist, of prayer circles, group meetings for Bible study, and house-to-house visitation. Devotional meetings also are being arranged. The Interdenominational Youth Council 7711* have special charge of the work among the young people. i Archbishop Averill will inaugurate a rally at St. David’s Church next Monday. Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational, and Baptist ministers will assist at intercessory prayer. Addresses on the objects of the campaign will be delivered by Canon K, H. Hobday and the Rev. W. Walker.
