THE ANNUAL MEETING HELD.
.PREPARATION'S FOR SEASON,
Greater success financially than in the previous year marked, last season, which concluded with a credit balance of £lO 145., stated the report presented to the annual meeting of the Hinemoa Ladies’ Hockey Club at Hawera last night. Miss I. Prime presided over a fair attendaUThe club had again been represented in the Taranaki touring team, continued the report. Neither club team was very successful in its games, but it was hoped that in the coming season greater interest .and better practices would bring the club to the fore. Two successful dances were held in conjunction with the men’s club —King's Birthday tournament dance and a function to entertain the Wanganui team. At the tournament Mrs. W. Adams and helpers had provided luncheon, the profit from which, amounting to £6, they had donated to the club. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr. H. G. Dickie, M.P.; president, Mr. A. Grout; vice-presidents, six elected; secretary, Miss N. Shannon; treasurer, Miss I. Prime; club captain, Miss B. Stevens; vice-captain, Miss N. Davis; committee, Misses J. McGlashan, M. Woolliams and N. Adams; delegates to association, Misses M. Woolliams, K. Cosgrove and Al. Guy. The opening days were fixed for Wednesday, April 20, and Saturday, April 23. New members elected were Misses P. Wylds, S. Lovell, M. Thurston, J. Grant, V. and B. Ryan, B. Donoghue and M. Evans.
Donations were made of £'l Is. to the Druids’ Lodge, Hawera, and £2 2s. to the Hawera Borough Council. The secretary was granted an honorarium of £2 2s.
