HOLIDAY BOWLING
URENUI TOURNAMENT. ADAM (PARITUTU) THE WINNER. Sixteen rinks took part in an enjoyable one-day bowling tournament, at Urenui yesterday, the weather being perfect and the green playing true and keen. The game was played in two sections, there being five rounds of section play. In section A, A. K. Smart (New Plymouth)" and A. Adam (Paritutu) tied, the last-named winning the play-off. In section B there was also a tie and in the play-off Goldsmith (Fire Brigade) defeated Price (Fitzroy). The final resulted in a win for the Paritutu rink as follows:— E. Jackson junr., McDonald, Walls, A. Adam (s), paritutu, 10; v. Finlay, Hay, W. Roch, Goldsmith (s), Fire Brigade, 7. STRATFORD COMPETITIONS. The third day of progressive pairs at the Stratford Bowling Club resulted in W. G. Liddell securing five wins and winning the skips’ competition, and C. I’hompson (4 games) winning the leads’. Strangely enough, these two players won the Easter pairs ultimate competition, having the best aggregate for two of the three playing days, Liddell having 7J wins and Thompson 8.
