SALE OF REDUNDANT MACHINERY. PROPOSED LEVY FOR PURCHASE. British Wireless. Rugby, March 22. , The President of the Board of Trade (Mr. W. Run ciman) in a letter to the joint committee of the cotton trade organisations has undertaken that if the joint committee decides to prepare a suitable detailed scheme for concentrating production through a levy for the purchase of redundant machinery and is able to secure for it a measure of support of the kind that would commend it to Parliament, he will be prepared to recommend the promotion of the legislation needed; to give authority for the collection of the levy. The joint committee has decided that a detailed scheme for the spinning section of the industry shall be at once prepared. ; - - 1 .
