Nanking theatre during the showing of a film depicting the fighting on the Shanghai front. Soldiers in the audience objected to slurs on the military for precipitating the real fighting. The riot resulted in the interior of the theatre being wrecked. ' Three people were thrown through upper .windows to the street and many others were seriously injured. The arrival of a largo force of police prevented the burning of the theatre.
