MOVEMENTS OF OVERSEAS SHIPS. KAIRTOPO FROM SMELBOUiBiNE. The Karepo, rfom Melbourne direct, was berthed at the Newton King wharf at 6 o’clock yesterday morning. Leaving Melbourne at 8.36 p.m. on Friday, the ship encountered strong westerlies all the way and averaged 10 knots to arrive off New Plymouth at 10.20 p.m. on Thursday, fshe has general cargo and 49 bags of mail, mostly transhipments, and including some from South Africa. The Karepo is expected to sail at noon to-day for Auckland, Wellington and Tarakohe. Captain G. B. Corby, who is in command, has with him the following officers: First, Mr. P. E. Ryan; second, Mr. C. T. Robb; third, Mr. J. V. Broadhouse; chief engineer, Mr. R. S. Dicky; second engineer, Mr. T. Scott; third, Mr. W. McMurran; wireless operator, Mr. J. G. Rea; chief steward, Mr. T. Glgnn. ALLOTMENT FOR THE RARANGA. The Raraiiga’s loading allotment for New Plymouth is announced as 4000 boxes of butter, 4000 crates of cheese and 5000 freight carcases of meat. The Raranga is scheduled to load at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Gisborne and Wellington, and is expected at New Plymouth direct from Australia on April 25. She is to leave Wellington on May 12 for London and west coast of Great Britain ports. PAKEHA TO LOAD FOR ENGLAND. The Pakeha, which is expected at New Plymouth from England in ballast on April 26 to commence loading for Great Britain, will lift 4550 crates of cheese and 14,000 freight carcases of meat at New Plymouth. The vessel will complete loading at Wellington, Gisborne and Auckland and is expected to clear Auckland on May 14 for London. LOADING FOR THE CUMBERLAND. The Cumberland, now proceeding from London in ballast, is due to commence loading at Auckland on April 11, and will later complete at New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Wellington and Napier. She will load 24J100 freight careases of meat at Naw Plymouth, where she is due about April 18. She is scheduled to clear Napier on April 30 for London and west coast United Kingdom ports. KUROHEME MARU AT AUCKLAND. The Japanese steamer Kurohime Maru, which -was delayed by rough weather, reached Auckland early on Thursday morning. She will discharge sulphur and will then proceed to New Plymouth to put out the remainder of her cargo. The vessel is due at New Plymouth early next week. MEDDLESfEX REACHES AUCKLAND. With a cargo of basic slag from Antwerp, the Federal Line steamer Middlesex reached Auckland early on Thursday morning. Her other ports of discharge are Wellington and New Plymouth, where she is due on April 6 to discharge 1700 tons of basic slag. RUAHINE SAILS FOR WELLINGTON I After unloading the Auckland portion of her English cargo, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruahine was to be dispatched for Wellington on Thursday afternoon to continue discharge.
