GERMANY’S SUPER TARIFF
DISCRETIONARY POWERS GIVEN. Australian produce affected. By Telegraph—Pres* Assn.—Copyright. Berlin, March 9. The new super tariff, under which Australia is included as a country having no commercial treaty with Germany, but which is not yet enforced, permits the following increases in duty per 2cwt.: wheat, five to 30 marks; frozen meat, from 45 to 110 marks. Wool is not affected. The Minister of Commerce emphasised that the super-tariff was merely discretionary and would be used to meet other discriminating tariffs.
