WAIKATO LIVE STOCK VALUES. POORER DEMAND FOR BEEF. Hamilton, March 8. The usual yarding of ox beef and a large offering of cow beef came forward at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards to-day. Both classes were in poorer demand than last week, and values accordingly declined slightly. Late rates were fully maintained for store cows. A slight decline in prices was also recorded for all classes of sheep, of which there was a heavy entry. There was a large yarding of fat pigs. The demand for baconers at the beginning of the sale was not keen, but a considerable improvement was shown toward the end. Porkers remained firm at late quotations, while stores improved slightly. Cattle: Heavy fat bullocks sold at £6 12s to £7 4s; medium quality, £5 5s to £6 10s; lighter, £4 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d; good'quality fat cows, £4 14s to £5; fat cows, £3 10s to £4 10s; lighter quality, £2 15s to £3 ss; light, £2 7s 6d to £2 12s 6d; killable, £1 15s to £2 ss; stores, 24s to 325; boners. 14s to 21s; good quality vealers, £1 19s to £3 Is; average, £1 3s to £1 17s; poorer, 12s to 21s. Sheep: Prime fat wethers, 12s lOd to 15s 9d; fat wethers, 10s 7d to 12s 6d; lighter quality, 9s to 10s; prime fat ewes, 8s Jld to 9s 2d; fat ewes, 7s 6d to 8s; lighter 6s to 7s 3d; fat lambs, 10s to Ils 6d; lighter quality, 8s 6d to 10s; light, 7s 6d to Bs. Pigs: Prime baconers, l£l 18s to £2 4s; over-weight, 35s to £2; medium, 32s to 365; light baconers and heavy porkers, 27s to 30s; medium porkers, 23s to 265; light and unfinished, 18s to £1 Is; large stores, 12s to 16s; slips, 7s to 9s; weaners, 4s to 6s. WOOL PRICES MAINTAINED. REALISATIONS IN LONDON. London, March 8. At the wool sales to-day 8343 bales were offered, including 3942 from New Zealand. Approximately 5027 were sold. There was a good general demand and good clearances were effected. Prices were firmly maintained, The series closes on March 16. Quota-
