MORE RADIUM TO BE PURCHASED
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Encouraging results iu the treatment of cancer with radium obtained at the Auckland clinic were announced by Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie at a public meeting held under the auspices of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society. “Those engaged in cancer research in Auckland,” said Mr.'Mackenzie, “are o-oing to place before their colleagues results obtained with radium which could not have been obtained years ago. Some are almost iu the nature of miracles. I am not over-emphasising the importance of radium as it as yet is only in a limited classes of cases that it can be used, but among those cases are some of the most distressing that can be suffered.” 1 Negotiations were in progress for the purchase of more radium for Auckland, added Mr. Mackenzie.
