LARGE OVERSEAS CARGO
IMPORTS ABOARD THE PORT ALMA. “PEOPLE BEGINNING TO IMPORT.” “It seems as if people are beginning to import again,” remarked. Mr. A. L. Humphries, New Plymouth, yesterday when giving details of the overseas liner Port Alma’s New Plymouth cargo, "and it is undoubtedly a sign of improving trade.” ' .The Port Alma is due on Monday with 3644 tons of slag and other manures, and has 434 tons of general cargo consigned to the unusually large number of 214 different consignees. It is the best cargo manifesto for New Plymouth that Mr. Humphries’ firm has handled for a considerable time. A large part of the cargo was loaded at London, but there are also goods from Hamburg, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Offc and Antwerp.
