, .. TENNIS TOURNAMENTS. • On Friday afternoon the Ararata school children visited the Ohangai school to play a tennis tournament. Some excellent games were witnessed, the tournament resulting in a win for Ohangai in the actual games, while in sets won Ararata were in the lead. The detailed results are as follows, Ararata players being mentioned first: Girls’ singles: A. Marsh lost to M. Tumararoa o—6,0 —6, B. Marsh defeated J. Patchell 6—2, S. Parker defeated J. Dyson 6—3, J. Larcom defeated G. Elmes 6—5.

Girls’ doubles: A. and B. Marsh defeated M. Tumararoa and J. Patchell 6— ,1, S. Parker and J. Larcom defeated J. Dyson and G. Elmes 6- L 2. Boys’ singles:: A. Tarrant.lost to T. Rangitonga o—6, M. Tocker defeated B. Trott 6—5, S. O’Connell lost to L. Hamilton I—6, R. O’Connell defeated D. Patchell 6—4.

Boys’ doubles: A. Tarrant and M. Tocker lost to T. Rangitonga and B. Trott 2—6, S. . O’Connell and R. O’Connell lost to Li Hamilton and D. Patchell 5—6. Mixed doubles: A. Marsh and A. The Ohangai Tennis Club team played the Mokoia B team at Ohangai on Saturday the tournament resulting in a victory for Ohangai by 17 sets to 7.
