AMERICANS TO TOUR PACIFIC

PETER B. KYNE AND FAIRBANKS.

VISITS TO AUSTRALIA HOPED.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, February 17. There is a possibility that Douglas Fairbanks, film actor, and Peter B. Kyne, the well-known author, may in the near future visit Australia. The Australian Travel Association representative at San Francisco, Mr. O’Connor, states that Mr. Fairbanks sailed by the "Makura to-day for Tahiti, when he will proceed by yacht to make a travelogue of the South Seas, including Fiji and New Guinea. Mr. Fairbanks told him that if time permitted he would include Australia in his trip. . Mr. Fairbanks must return to Los Angeles in time for the Olympic Games. Mr. Kyne, who has been asked to join the so-called Young America Group, which is scheduled to leave by the Monterey on June 3, has received a cablegram from the Prime Minister, of Australia (Mr. J. A. Lyons) urging him to visit Australia. The writer stated that he would go if he possibly could, and upon his return he -would do his bit to give that interesting country the forceful, kindly publicity so eminently merited. He expressed doubt as to his ability to leave by June 3, but he added that he would move Heaven and earth to get there in time for the Melbourne Cup.
