Invercargill, Feb. 19. John Farquhar Mcßae was fined £2OO, in default 12 months’ imprisonment, for conveying spirits on which the full duty was not paid. Accused took 17 bottles of whisky to a hairdresser’s shop, where ho was seized. For the prosecution it was stated that Mcßae was a distributing agent for an illicit distillery. The.magistrate expressed the view that he was equally culpable with the distiller.
