TENNIS IN NEW PLYMOUTH
ACTIVITY OF THE PARK CLUB. The competitions of the Pukek’ura Park club are now well advanced, a number of semi-finals having been leached, aud in some,cases the matches ai‘e through to the final ropnds. Results of championship events are: Men’s singles: Des Forges defeated Scanlon 6—o, 6 —2, W. Dickson defeat- , ed Maclean 6— 3, 7— 5, Little defeated * W. Dickson 6 —3, 4—6, 6 —2, Henley defeated D. Smith 6—5, 6 —o. Ladies’ singles: Miss Elliott defeated Miss J. Ross 9—4, Miss N. Christoffel defeated Mrs. Shrimpton 9 —5, Mrs. Dickson defeated Miss Medley 9 —4, Miss O. Christoffel defeated Miss R. Pepper 9 —3. The men’s doubles are through to the semi-finals. The winners of Scanlon and Henley v. Little and Shrimpton enter the finals in the top half and the winners of T. Dickson and Des Forges v. P. Dickson and Smith in the bottom half.
In the ladies’ doubles, the winners of Misses N. and O. Christoffel v. Misses J. Walton and Medley enter the finals in the top half and the winners of Misses Simmons and J. Ross v. Misses P. Walton and Baunton in the bottom half. - In the combined doubles the winners of Shrimpton and Mrs. Shrimpton versus Dickson and Mrs. Dickson enter the finals in the top half and the winners of 7 Little and Miss Baunton versus Des Forges and Miss O. Christoffel in the bottom half.
