Victoria, having made 15'6 in the first innings, in the second made 273 (Barnett 94, Smith 47). Thurlow took three wickets for 69 runs, Oxenham four for 64 and Hur wood three for 55. NEW SOUTH WALES WINS. DEFEAT OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Rec. 10.30 p.m. Adelaide, Dec. 22. New 'South Wales defeated South Australia in the Sheffield 'Shield match by 117 runs. New South Wales in the second innings made 205 (Hird 34, O’Reilly not out 31). Tobin took four wickets for 63 runs. South Australia was dismissed in the second innings for 160 (Starr 33, Waite 38).
