(Christmas Eve) at 2 p.m. OPERA HOUSE, THURSDAY. “BILLY THE KID.” "Billy the .Kid,” Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production, will be the principal attraction on the programme showing at the Opera House on Thursday next (Christmas Eve) at a matinee at 2 p.m. and in the evening at 8 o’clock. ‘Billy the Kid” relates the stirring happenings at Lincoln, New Mexico, during the famous “cattlemen’s war” of 1878, 18« U and 1880. The career of William Bonney during that time is the crux of the wildest point the wild west ever reached. John Mack Brown plays “The Kid” and Wallace Beery gives another of his inimitable characterisations as Sheriff Garrett. Kay Johnson has the feminine lead. Karl Dane is seen as the comic cowboy Swenson. The large cast also includes Wyndham Standing, Russell Simpson, Blanche Frederici, Roscoe Ates, Warner P. Richmond, James Marcus, Nelson McDowell, Jack Carlyle, John Beck, Marguerita Padula and Aggie Herring. The supports will include Metrotone News and “Bigger and Better” (comedy).
