HAD HOUSE-BREAKING TOOLS
CRIMINAL INTENT ADMITTED. SENTENCE OF IMPRISONMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 21. Suspicious movements on the part of Ronald Hicks late on Saturday night led to detectives questioning him, and as a result Hicks was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Mr. Woodward, S.M., to-day, on charges of being a rogue and vagabond in that he was found unlawfully in possession of a housebreaking instrument. Detectives found him with a jemmy and torch, and he admitted his intention to break and enter some place. He had been before the court this year for unlawful intimidation in connection with a Communist meeting in Christchurch and had stowed away in the Wahine to Wellington. 1
