ERADICATION OF CHINESE TO CLEAR THREE PROVINCES CHINCHOW MAIN OBJECTIVE ASSAULT SUDDENLY BEGUN

Waiving the formality of an ultimatum, the Japanese army in Manchuria to-day began a drive aiming at total eradication of Chinese influence in the three eastern provinces, and having Ohinchow, the provisional eeat of Government, as the main objective. It is reported that fighting commenced last evening with a Japanese aerial attack pending the arrival of troops opposing 10,000 Chinese regulars who are moving to an attack on Mukden. •
