The Kaimai is expected at New Plymouth on Friday with 275 tons of coal from Westport. She will proceed to Wellington. On January 4 the vessel will load at Dunedin for New Plymouth via usual ports, being expected about January 9. (U.S.S. C.) . The Rata is expected at New Plymouth on Friday from Westport with 200 tons of coal. She will proceed to Wanganui on Monday. (Cock and Co.). The John is expected at New Plymouth On January 2 from Dunedin via usual ports. (Hooker Bros.). The Hauturu left Onehunga at 5 p.m. yesterday for New Plymouth and Wanganui. She is bringing 120 tons of general cargo for New Plymouth, and ia due to leave this afternoon for Wanganui. (Northern Co.). OVERSEAS SHIPS’ MOVEMENTS. CANADIAN CHALLENGER. Messrs. C. F. Millward and Co. advise that the Canadian National Steamships steamer Canadian Challenger is expected at New Plymouth to-morrow evening with 1500 tons of sulphur from the Gulf of Mexico and a quantity of general cargo from Canada and the United States via Auckland. From New Plymouth the vessel will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete diecharge, and also to load for her homeward voyage. From Dunedin the vessel will be despatched for New York, Boston and Halifax. CUMBERLAND SAILS TO-MORROW. The Cumberland, which is loading '23,(50 freight carcases of meat, 7000 boxes of butter and 10,000 crates of cheese at New Plymouth, is to sail to-morrow for Wellington. MATAKANA AT AUCKLAND. With cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, the Shaw, Savill steamer Matakana reached Auckland on Sunday from Liverpool. She is due at New Plymouth about January 11 to load dairy produce. HAURAKI EXPECTED IN JANUARY. The Hauraki from Pacific Coast ports is due at New Plymouth, via Auckland and Wellington, about January 12. She will proceed to Bluff, Melbourne, Sydney and Vancouver. NORFOLK TO LOAD DAIRY PRODUCE. The Norfolk, en route from Falmouth in ballast, is due at Wellington on January 18 to commence loading. She will later complete at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Gisborne and Auckland, and is scheduled to clear the northern port on February 3 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. ®t New Plymouth the Norfolk will load 15,500 freight carcases of meat, 6000 crates of cheese and 4500 boxes of butter, all for the West Coast of Britain. C. AND D. LINE LOADINGS. The C. and D. Line advises that its motor-ship Port Fremantle, at present en route from London to Auckland, Wellington and Nelson, has been fixed to commence loading during discharge at Nelson on January 8. She will subsequently complete at New Plymouth, Napier, Wellington and Wanganui. The vessel is due at New Plymouth on January 11, and is scheduled to clear Wanganui on January 30 for London, via Cape Horn and Dakar. The Port Caroline is due at Gisborne from Australia on January 25 to commence loading, and will later complete at New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton and Auckland. She is due at New Plymouth on January 29, and is scheduled to clear Auckland on February 13 for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. ITININARY OF THE MAHANA. The Mahana is due at New Plymouth from Australia on January 20 to commence loading, and will later complete at Wellington, Timaru, Lyttelton and Bluff. At New Plymouth the vessel will load 10,000 freight carcases of meat, 17,000 boxes of butter and 8000 crates of cheese. She is scheduled to clear Bluff on February 10 for London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. PORT HUON FOR LONDON. Having completed loading the C. and D. Line motor-ship Port Huon left Wellington on Saturday for London, via Cape Horn and Dakar. The Port Huon loaded 11,000 boxes of butter and 600 crates of cheese at New Plymouth early in December. STEAMERS TO BE LAID UP. Both the Kaponga and Kartigi were to be withdrawn from commission at Auckland yesterday and their crews paid off.
