' . GENERAL ITEMS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Hurford Road children's concert and prize-giving ceremony was held in the hall on Friday evening before a large attendance. The programme was as follows:—'Song, The Children; recitations, Percy Lyford, Patty Lynch, Margaret Walsh, and Gordon Williams; mandolin-guitar items, Daisy Higginj and Monica Schrider; songs, Gwynndd Johns and Mrs. Spence; duet. Winnie Marsh and Teresa Schrider; trip, Daisy Higgins, George Spence and 'Megan John's; dance and encore, Mary Walsh. The accompaniments were played by Mrs. Johns, who also supplied all the fancy dresses. After presenting Mrs. Johns with a bouquet of sweet peas the children -heartily cheered her. The chairman, Mr. T. Walsh, gave the children their prizes and, thanked all who had helped to malce the evening such a success. Three out of four children obtained their proficiency certilcates.

After supper the floor was cleared for dancing, the music being provided by Mrs. M. Reynolds, and Mr. Dave Lynch was master of ceremonies.

The recent dry weather caused a serious drop in the cream supply, the output of the factory having dropped about 'ten boxes per day, now being 74 boxes daily as compared with 84 a month ago, which, by the way, is the largest amount ever made by fche company. Mr. W. Maloney has made a wonderful recovery from his recent illness. The condition of Mr. Bert Seamark, who is in the New Plymouth ’Public Hospital, is causing his friends anxiety.
