The Opihi arrived at New Plymouth on Saturday with cargo from southern ports. She will sail at midnight tonight for Dunedin and is expected from the south again about December 30. (U.S.S. Co.). The Kaimai will load at Dunedin on January 4 for New Plymouth, via usual ports. She is expected about January 10. (U.S.S. Cd.). The Tairoa loft New Plymouth last night for Wanganui. Owing to the dispute between the waterside workers and the shipping authorities the vessel did not take her full allotment, leaving about one-third of the cheese and onethird of the butter which she was originally intended to load. MAHANA FROM AUSTRALIA. Newton King Ltd. advises that the Mahana will arrive at New Plymouth about January 20 from Australia direct to commence loading for Britain. Her New Plymouth allotment includes 10,000 freight carchses of meat, 17,000 boxes of butter and 8000 crates of cheese. CUMBERLAND TO SAIL. The Cumberland, which has been delayed in loading by rain, is now expected to clear New Plymouth for Wellington on Wednesday. MATAKANA FROM LIVERPOOL.

The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matakana was due at Auckland from Liverpool yesterday to unload cargo from West Coast ports of Great Britain. From Auckland the vessel will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. For her homeward voyage the Matakana .will load at Port Chalmers, Timaru, New Plymouth, Wellington and Napier. She is to be dispatched from Napier for London, via Panama., on January 25.
