The flooded rivers between Bowen and Prosperine caused disorganisation of the railway services between Rockhampton and Townsville, and settlers in parts of the Augathella district are isolated and on short rations. Queensland wheatgrowers have lost at least £150,000 as a result of the floods and rain, according to Mr. Phelps, manager of the State Wheat Board. B Fears of floods in the northern inland rivers of New South Wales are abated considerably, and serious floodings are now unlikely.
