OUR GREAT “HOLIDAY” COMPETITION. Wendy wants Short Essays or Little Poems describing your “Ideal Holidays”—either holidays you have already enjoyed or those you would like to enjoy if you could choose for yourselves. THE- WRITERS OF THE VERY BEST ESSAYS OR POEMS WILL EACH RECEIVE A PRIZE. WENDY EXPLAINS. Just a wee note to explain exactly what you have to do in order to win one of our extra special prize...- Some of you have probably HAD the' “Ideal” Holiday” this year, or last year, or some other year. If so, I want you to tell me about it, briefly and clearly, either in a short essay of about one hundred or one hundred and fifty words —not more; or else in a little poem. I suggest the poem as an alternative because I. know well how much some of my Tinkites like writing verse. Perhaps you have NOT had the holiday you consider ideal! That doesn’t matter, because you can still tell me what kind of holiday you would meet enjoy. And the same rule applies here: you can describe it either in a short essay or in a tiny poem. EVERYONE CAN ENTER FOR this interesting competition. vou see, and EVERYONE STANDS A' GOOD CHANCE OF WINNING. A PRIZE. One thing I shall look out for when'judging your entries: neat hand-writing. Another thing: clean, tidy work. Now I think I have explained things sufficiently, so go ahead. Take a little time to think out what you'mean to tell me, make a rough note of your essay or poem, correct it if necessary, and then make a clean, fair copy of it to send to me. The usual rules must be observed if you want to qualify for one of our prizes:—. 1. Your entry must be in by 29th October, addressed to Wendy, c/o The Editor, Daily News, New Plymouth. 2. Your name, address, and age must be clearly stated. 3.
