FRANKLEY ROAD NOTES
OPENING OF TENNIS SEASON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Last Saturday saw the opening of the tennis season, and although the weather could have been much better, there was quite a large gathering. The milk supply at the factory is going up quickly. Mr. Heal has bought Mr. Grahams farm. There has been a working bee at the Frankley School. The basketball ground has been ploughed up, and later it is to be sown down. Tuis and bellbirds have not been heard in the neighbourhood for over a week. Probably the fine weather has taken them to the higher levels. The pipiwharauroa (shining cuckoo) was both seen and heard on Thursday.
