A cricket club has been formed at Mangamingi and there is every prospect of a good eleven being fielded. Seventeen attended the meeting and several apologies were received.

Officers were elected as follows: Patron Mr. J. Hickey; president, Mr. P. R. Brown; vice-president, Mr. W. Hardwick Smith; secretary, Mr. R. H. Sinclair; committee, Messrs. E. Woodley (chairman), P. Hickey, L. C. Barnard, W. Boddie; captain, Mr. L. C. Barnard; vice-captain, Mr. P. Hickey. Messrs. E. Woodley and R. H. Sinclair were appointed delegates in the event of a country club association being formed. It was considered that there would be little difficulty in arranging competitions with other clubs, such as Rawhitiroa. Pukengahu and Eltham. There is also the possibility of a team being formed at Mata.

The season will probably be opened on Labour Day, when a team from Eltham or Pukengahu will visit the district.
