TWO PERSONS INJURED. .CHILD’S DUCKY ESCAPE. - : Rotorua, Oct. 3. Although the two adult passengers in a small delivery ■ van which capsized over a steep bank on the Okoroire Road shortly after two o'clock on Friday morning both suffered injury, a four-year-old child which was also in the cab of the van crawled out of the wreckage unhurt. ,-The "driver, Mr. B. G. " Crawford, of Rotorua, succeeded in.temporarily halting the yah .right on the edge of the bank; but before the occupants could escape, it overbalanced and rolled down a steep slope.. Mrs. Skinner, of Rotorua, who, with her child, was a passenger in the van, was pinned under the wreckage of the. cab, and had to be extricated by Mr, Crawford. Mr. Crawford, although injured, went for assistance to a farm about half a mile distant. The owner of the farm, Mr'. P. Corcoran, immediately got out his car and brought the three occupants of the van into Rotorua. Dr.. W. S. Wallis was Summoned and ordered,Mrs. Skinner into hospital, where it was- discovered that she was suffering 'from a fractured ankle and shock.
