(685.). _ English, finest farmers, 80s. to 85s. (-). ARRIVALS, STOCKS, DELIVERIES Arrivals of butter during the week included 720 tons from Russia _ and 260 tons from Poland and the Baltic States. Canadian arrivals were 8800 boxes and 7000 boxes are expected this week. The estimated stocks of all butters in London and/or provincial stores a,t October 1 were 18,000 tons. The estimated stocks of cheese at London, Liverpool and Bristol at October 1 were: Canadian, 266,400 boxes; Australia and New Zealand, 51,000 crates (also ships not yet discharged. New Zealand cheese, Matakana, 5300 crates; Opawa, west coast ports, 3000 crates.) Deliveries for the week and quantities in store are reported by the London office of the Dairy Board as follows, the figures for a year ago being shown in parentheses: — New Zealand buttef, deliveries, 1432 tons (1065 tons); stocks, 5424 tons (8550 tons). LAMB AND MUTTON EASIER. Lamb market quiet with prices a shade easier. Supplies of home-killed lamb are still heavy. Forward buyers displaying very little interest in view of increasing supplies of new season’s Australian and South American lamb. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes weaker owing to heavier arrivals. Beef market steady; stocks light. New Zealand porker pigs: Slightly better demand, but feeling competition large supplies homekilled. New Zealand baooner pigs: Purely nominal. HIGHEST PRICE 27 GUINEAS. ■Paeroa, October 3. The annual Jersey show and bull sale of the Paeroa Jersey Breeders’ Club was held in Paeroa in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile

Agency, Limited, this week. There was a yarding of 70 pedigree Jersey bulls, and a number of pedigree yearling Jersey heifers. Thirty-four bulls were sold under the hammer. The highest-priced bull was a two-year-old, Kelvin Merry Boy, which realised 27 guineas. It was sold by Mr. G. Buchanan, of Paeroa, and purchased by Mr. C. Hands, of W r aihi Plains. Mr. M. Cummins’ yearling Leafield Gay Chief realised 21 guineas, being purchased by Mr. J. Wakeham, of Awaiti, Netherton. Other prices ranged ■ from 20 guineas down to 5 guineas. Yearling heifers realised from £5 ss. up to £lO 10s. Before the pedigree cattle were offered for sale Mr. S. Dale, at the invitation of the. Jersey Club, judged the various classes. The screen has been pulled out of Moturoa No. 2 well and experiments have been made with swabbing in order to see the effect upon production, states the weekly report of Moturoa Oil Fields Ltd. Swabbing for several days produced 123 barrels of clean oil, but brought in too much sand. This ia now being cleaned out. SHAREMARKET' TRANSACTIONS.
