INDIAN POPULATION GROWS
REVELATIONS OF THE CENSUS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Calcutta, Sept. 20. India’s total population, according to the revised census, is almost 353,000,000, of which approximately 182,000,000 are males and 171,000,000 females. The census discloses an increase of 10.6 per cent, since 1921. The Hindus are about 238,500,000 and the Moslems nearly 74,000,000. The population of British India is 271,000,000 and of the Indian States and agencies 81,000,000.
