There seems, to be no escape for the wage-earner fiiom payment of unemployment tax, 510 matter how small his remuneration may be. Even the ball boys at Carlaw Park—headquarters of the League Rugby code in Auckland — have to make their contributions to the coffers of the Unemployment Board, although the remuneration for their services each Saturday amounts to pocket money only. The lads receive 3s, and a penny of that amount has to be devoted to the unemployment fund.
