BLENDED BUTTER MARKING
ORDER-IN-COUNCIL ISSUED. ! OPERATION IN THREE MONTHS. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, Sept. 19. The draft Order-in-Council issued ordering that blended butter be marked in accordance with the committee’s recommendations comes into force three months hence. The report of the committee appointed to consider marking imported butter recommended a series of markings, as, follows: —'“Empire,” where it is entirely overseas; “foreign,” where it is entirely foreign; “partly Empire,” where it consists of a blend of Dominions and United Kingdom butters; “partly foreign,” where the blend consists of foreign and United Kingdom butters. Alternatively the report recommended a definite indication or all tho countries of origin in tho blend, or the words, “including imported butter.”
