PROSPECTOR’S SURPRISE
LOST MAN RETURNS HOME OUT FOR THREE MONTHS IN SNOW A MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, September 19. Albert Darwin Bromgll, who set out alone on a gold prospecting expedition to Mount Owen on June 18 with one month’s rations, and had since been given up as lost, made a surprise return late last night. The only details known yet are that he has returned to his home at Tui and was very footsore. At the end of July search parties left Wangapcka in an effort to get in touch with the prospector, but snow was so heavy and the country so treacherous that they returned and gave no hope of Bromell’s being able to live through this winter’s exceedingly heavy snows. However, the man has returned after over three months out on the snow-covered hinterland.
